Get Relief from Depression Without Taking a Pill! TMS Therapy in Orange Park
Depression is a serious, but treatable illness. For many people, however, the standard treatments aren’t effective. If you’ve tried medication and lifestyle changes without success, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) may offer some relief.
With more than 2,150,000 sessions provided to over 65,000 people, TMS has a proven record of success. It could be the treatment that gives you relief from depression.
What Is TMS?
TMS therapy is a drug-free and non-invasive treatment for depression. In a TMS therapy session, a magnetic field is used to stimulate the prefrontal cortex. This helps brain cells function more effectively and better regulate mood.
When you have TMS therapy at HPRTC, a technician places an electromagnetic coil gently on your head. They turn the device on, and the coil delivers electromagnet pulses to your prefrontal cortex. This helps your brain regulate your moods better, to help relieve depression.
TMS therapy is a highly effective depression treatment, as our patient testimonials show.

How is TMS Different from Other Depression Treatments?
TMS therapy is different from other treatments because it’s:
TMS therapy is completely drug free, so it can help people who:
- Don’t benefit fully from anti-depressant medication
- Can’t tolerate the side effects of medication
- Don’t want to take anti-depressant drugs
Anti-depressants do help people, but they’re not the best choice for everyone. TMS therapy can be a good alternative to get relief from depression.
There are other depression treatments that are drug-free. These include electroconvulsive therapy, deep brain stimulation, and vagus nerve stimulation. While these treatments can be effective, they do involve invasive surgery or unpleasant procedures and require anesthesia.
TMS therapy is different because it’s non-invasive, as well as drug-free. When you have TMS therapy, there are no uncomfortable or unpleasant procedures involved.
3. Nearly Side-Effect Free
For patients who have side effects with TMS therapy, the most common is short-lived discomfort at the treatment site during the treatment. This usually subsides after the first week. Fewer than 5% of patients stop having TMS therapy because of side effects.

How Long Does It Take for TMS Therapy to Work?
For most people, it takes just two to three weeks of TMS therapy to notice positive changes. For some, it happens even sooner!
The effects of TMS therapy last a long time, but some people need booster treatments to stay depression-free. If you need booster treatment, it’s likely you’ll need just one per year. Insurance covers booster treatments for most people.
